Allergy Immunotherapy

Diagnosing Your Allergies:

Skin testing is a safe and easy way to determine which allergens are causing your symptoms by a simple scratch test. The scratch test uses a concentrated liquid of common allergens, such as pollen, mold, dust mites and animal dander, and with a multi-stick method, tests for ten allergens simultaneously, 30 total.

We scratch the outer layer of your skin to allow in the allergens (no needles, injections or bleeding). Afterward, your body will create a hive, similar to a mosquito bite, to your specific allergens.

Allergy Treatment:

  • Antihistamines and/or nasal steroids provide immediate relief, however, they only treat the symptoms.
  • Immunotherapy via vials that contain a tiny amount of your specific allergens to modulate your immune system and eliminate your allergies. Immunotherapy desensitizes your immune response to specific allergens. Gradually, exposure to specific allergens results in fewer symptoms, thus eliminating the need for OTC medications.

We offer two options for immunotherapy:

  • Subcutaneous injections that are administered 1-2 times a week. Available at our SLC and Draper offices.
  • Sublingual drops are administered daily in the comfort of your home at your convenience. These drops advance to maintenance doses much faster than shots.
